Who We Are

John F. Tweedy, CFP^® , the founder and principal of Tweedy Financial Services, LLC is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who works to help his clients solve the financial issues impacting their lives.

Before entering the financial planning profession, John worked in the electronics industry where he held various engineering and management positions, including vice president at a $300 million semiconductor and computer systems company.

During those years, John's associates and friends often sought him out for financial advice. Realizing that he really enjoyed helping regular people solve the financial issues impacting their lives, John decided that he would make financial planning and daily money management his new career. Since 2002 he has been helping his clients achieve peace of mind through proper planning and ongoing management of their individual financial situations.

Prior to earning his CFP^® certification in 2006, John studied a wide range of financial planning subjects at Long Island University and the College for Financial Planning. He also holds a BSEE degree with honors from Manhattan College and an MBA from Adelphi University.

John is a member of the Garrett Planning Network, an international affiliation of fee-only financial advisors who are dedicated to providing independent, professional services on an hourly or project fee basis without account minimums. He is also a member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM). John adheres to the Codes of Ethics of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and the AADMM.

In addition to his business activities, John volunteers with a number of organizations, including serving as a board member and treasurer of a non-profit community counseling center, the treasurer of his homeowners' association, a lay minister and member of his church's advisory committee, and an alumni class representative at Regis High School in New York City.

In his free time John enjoys hiking and bicycling and tries to take advantage of the many cultural opportunities available in the New York City area.
